Jamaica Shopping
Shopping in Jamaica is an experience in and of itself. Gift shops and craft markets can be found in all of the resort areas. Crafts, including woodcarvings, baskets, and paintings, are popular souvenirs. Premium Blue Mountain coffee, locally grown and harvested, is available for less than half the price you'd pay at home. Jamaica's own spicy Pickapeppa sauce and other exotic spices also make good souvenirs and gifts. Bargaining is the norm, especially with handicrafts and at informal markets.
There are also duty-free shops in abundance here, where US visitors can save 20-30% on popular brand-name items. Note that although coral and turtle products and Cuban cigars may be purchased here, they will be confiscated in the airport.
