St. John Transportation
While there is wide variety of things to do and see on St. John, the topography of the land does not allow for a lot of walking.
Taxis are readily available, but if you're going to want to go to dinner and to the beach more than once or twice, it will probably make financial sense to rent a vehicle. USVI private taxi rates are government-regulated; a private taxi van currently costs $55 to $90 for 1-4 persons.
To get the most out of your St. John vacation, we recommend renting a car before you arrive. Our villa specialists are happy to help you arrange your car rental. There are a number of car rental agencies located in and around Cruz Bay, offering Jeeps, Suzukis and sedans. For last-minute vacations during high season, you may need to rent a vehicle on St. Thomas and take the car barge over.
