St. Thomas Shopping
St. Thomas is known for its duty-free shopping - with watches, gems, jewelry, liquor, cigars, perfume, leather goods, designer wear, and collectibles. Be sure to spend some time in downtown Charlotte Amalie, but check the cruise ship schedule and go on the day when there are the fewest ships in port. Stores here are open 9 AM to 5 PM.
Vendor's Plaza, in Charlotte Amalie across from Emancipation Park and Fort Christian, is host to vendors selling an assortment of souvenirs. Vendor's Plaza is generally open Monday through Saturday from about 7:30 to 5. Depending on the number of ships in port on Sunday, some vendors may set up. A co-op across the street sells locally made crafts and goodies.
