Tortola Airport Information
The main airport of the BVI is Tortola's Terrence B Lettsome International Airport (EIS), usually referred to as Beef Island airport. A runway extension completed in 2004 allows for the use of 64-seater planes from San Juan and St. Maarten. There are a few stores and a concession, and the Departure Lounge, Arrivals, and Customs Halls are all air conditioned.
Airlines servicing Tortola include American Eagle, Caribbean Star, LIAT, Cape Air, and Caribbean Sun.
There is a $20 departure tax, except for children under age 5. Be sure to check in at least an hour and a half to two hours prior to your departure, as security is tightening up.
