Turks and Caicos Transportation

Guests of Turks and Caicos villas will want to get around the island a bit to make the most of their vacation. If you plan to travel infrequently and are in a small party, i.e. 2 people, then you might choose to just use taxis; however, in most cases, we recommend getting a rental car so that you can really see all that the island has to offer. There are a few rental car agencies in Turks and Caicos. You'll need your valid home license, and there is a $10 tax on car rentals. CaribbeanDays will gladly reserve a car for guests of our villas - just ask!

Keep in mind that we drive on the left side of the road in Turks and Caicos! The traffic here tends to be light, and the terrain is flat. When entering roundabouts or other intersections without traffic signals, yield to vehicles on your right. Wild donkeys are a common sight on the islands, and can present a hazard to drivers as they walk on the roads, especially at night.

Getting between the islands is easiest by plane, but ferries can also be a good way for island hoppers to get around. Head to the marina at Leeward-Going-Through on Provo, or ask around to see what ferries are currently running.
