The most obvious reason to visit any Caribbean destination is the weather, which can best be described as "beautiful" year-round. The Virgin Islands enjoy a tropical climate, with average daytime temperatures around 78°F in winter and 82°F in summer. The hottest months are August and September. Trade winds blow continuously, so it's a good idea to pack a sweater or light jacket whenever you come. There is more rain during the fall than other times of year, but even then it should be confined to brief, intense showers. June through November is hurricane season.
