Commanding an incredible 270 degree ocean and bay panorama from atop a rocky ridge set 100 feet above a surf-lined cove, this exceptionally charming villa offers uninterrupted views of both the Caribbean, to the horizon, and across Coral Bay, all the way to the top of Bordeaux Mountain. There is a beautiful simplicity to this dramatic, cliff-side villa, which is located on one of St. John’s most dramatic stretches of coastline on St. John’s unspoiled East End.
The family room is perched high on the small peninsula that comprises Coral Point. There are five different, yet equally spectacular, views from each of the five arched double doors that are arrayed around the points of the compass in this six sided room and a telescope on a tripod to move from side to side as time and light dictate. A vaulted, cypress ceiling and indirect lighting soften the mood for evening cocktails or family movie watching.
The bright and airy kitchen and dining area serve as the informal center of activity and separate the great room from the adjacent master bedroom suite. This bright and airy, upper level space features comfortable table seating for six and an adjacent breakfast bar for four additional or early morning diners. The well-outfitted kitchen has all the modern conveniences, Corian countertops, dishwasher and refrigerator with icemaker.
The gracious master suite features air-conditioning, a vaulted cypress ceiling, marble floors and a romantic, king-sized, four poster bed. Through its gracefully shuttered balcony on the ocean side, the suite offers spectacular views over the pool one level below to magnificent sunsets over the Caribbean. The master bath is also located on the ocean side and encompasses a very spacious, tiled shower room, with open air ceiling (shaded by wood louvers), from which endless views of the Caribbean can be enjoyed in complete privacy.
Arched doorways on the bay side of the suite provide views of Coral Bay and lead to a very private deck within a shaded garden. This garden also features a self-contained office cottage, with small daybed, fully outfitted for keeping up with details back at the office (if you must) while also again providing amazing views of the Caribbean.
Just past the office cottage is a colorful gate, leading to the beach stairs. The spectacular view of waves breaking on the rocky coastline 100 feet directly below will take your breath away. But once you have easily navigated the 155 steps with double hand rails (easy on the way down, a healthy workout on the ascent!), you will discover a wonderful, tumbled rock and coral beach, set among huge natural rock outcroppings, which provide not only welcome shade but also numerous secret spaces for ocean front picnics. Your own very private beach features fantastic snorkeling among live coral reefs, and a convenient launching point for the villa’s three, sit-on-top ocean kayaks.
Two charming queen bedrooms, also with four poster beds and marble floors, are situated on the patio level and open directly onto the pool deck. Each has air-conditioning and its own limitless vistas of the Caribbean and instant access for a splash in the pool just steps away. These bedrooms are reached via the exterior spiral staircase from the upper level, or from the arrival level below, directly across the deck. A spacious bath, with party-sized, tiled alfresco shower room, connects the bedrooms.
The entire oceanfront side of Coral Point Beach House on the first level is a generously proportioned, sweeping, tiled terrace, dotted with palm trees, which enjoys blue vistas of the Caribbean to the horizon—and total privacy for sunbathing. The heart of the terrace also encompasses a very private 10' by 20' kidney-shaped pool, seven and a half feet deep, and comfortable lounging furniture. Both a built-in, gourmet charcoal grill and a stainless steel gas grill make the patio a setting ideally suited for easy-going meal preparation and alfresco dining with friends.
A large, new Sundancer therapeutic spa has been added to the patio area. It features a quality sound system, waterfall, and multi-colored lighting.
Built on two levels and cheerfully furnished with vibrant fabrics, Coral Point Beach House is the sweet essence of the tropics. Nothing formal or ostentatious, all open air Caribbean elegance with plantation shutters to gently control the constant trades--all about relaxation and simplicity. Please note that open air homes have very few screens which detract from the desired ambiance. While the emphasis at Coral Point Beach House is always simplicity, but it is not without the important options: Satellite TV with DVD and VCR player, Bose stereo system in the kitchen/dining area, movie + music collections, books, high speed internet access, fax/answering machine, hair dryers, gourmet gas and charcoal grills, telescope, 3 ocean kayak by Wilderness Systems (2 singles and a tandem) (with waiver), UV water purification system, air-conditioned bedrooms, basketball court, double entry gates.
